I think, write, and speak about the governance of scientific and technological innovation in society.

As a researcher and consultant, I’m particularly interested in policy-making on emerging neurotechnology and AI.

With an interdisciplinary background in the social studies of science and technology (STS), I draw on qualitative and interpretive tools to better understand

  • Frameworks and instruments for the ethical, responsible, and socially inclusive governance of science and technology

  • Policies and strategies for a greater alignment of technological development with social values and needs

  • National, institutional and organisational differences in steering technoscientific innovation with and for society

  • Emerging soft and hard law for innovation in international and global governance

  • Possibilities for a better understanding and critique of innovation imperatives in policy and politics

I hold a PhD (summa cum laude) from the Technical University of Munich, a Master of Science in STS, and a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Maastricht University.

Currently, I’m working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department for Digital Design and Information Studies, Aarhus University, Denmark, where I investigate “The Making of European Ethics of AI”.
